BMC delays reopening the schools till December 15 due to the new variant threat
BMC has deferred the reopening of Mumbai schools for classes 1 to 7 to December 15th 2021 du to the new COVID variant. Previously the schools were announced to opening on December 1st 2021. The decision is taken due to the threat of the new CVID variant, Omicron as its now spreading in India also. And this is to make sure everyone is safe and need to adopt to the situation.
On November 29th 2021, new guidelines and SOPs are releases and the Maharashtra Education minister Varsha Gaikwad has asked everyone to follow them.
Even though there are no cases of new COVID variant Omicron being reported in the country so far, the states are adopting precautionary measures to ensure less transmission of the infection. The Schools in Mumbai would continue to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
